Telendos

Telendos is located to the West of the island (opposite the village of Myrties) and at a distance of about 900 m from the coast. It is an island of barren and rocky, except for the flat part at the base of the Peninsula formed on the Southeast side of Telendos, behind the featured traditional settlement, which stretches along the East-southeastern coast.

Telendos were once united with Kalymnos. The two islands were separated after a powerful earthquake in 535 ad, where they sank the intermediate section, along with the entire city of ancient Pothaias (the capital of then Telendos), as reported by the annalists.
