History

Corfu is one of the northernmost islands of the Ionian Sea. Located close to the mainland, its Northeast coasts are opposite to the shores of Aghii Saranta, Albania.

Corfu Town is characterized by the strong Venetian element but also by many French and English influences. Its Venetian mansions and buildings are painted with the traditional Corfiot ocher. The main attractions are the Spianada square, the largest square in the Balkans, the Froureio, the Town Hall, the Kanoni, the Achillion and many museums.

Best period to visit there is the Easter season to enjoy the Corfiot traditions and in the summer to swim at the beaches of the island.
