Chios is an island in the Eastern Aegean and just short of the coast of Asia Minor. It is the 5th largest island with a population of around 53,000 residents who live either in the city or in one of the 64 villages. The main exported products are mastic, figs and wine and has an international reputation for the size and quality of shipping. Chios is rumored as a possible birthplace of Homer and of mathematics Oenopides and Hippocrates. The territory is mainly mountainous while the cultivated part of the thriving basically the famous mastic with large exports to other countries. It is an island with little tourist development but a high level of service that they offer quality holidays.
